Chief Product Officer
Felix Holst is Chief Product Officer/Co Founder at Hackrod.
Previously, Felix served as Vice President of Creative for the Wheels division at Mattel until 2014. Navigating multiple roles where he drove innovation in product, manufacturing and content, his career culminated in the award winning Hot Wheels For Real campaign, which captured three world records, and provided insight into the future of ‘Made Media’. That campaign signaled his transition to Hackrod where he has since been researching and developing a vision of how VR design tools, AI, and advanced manufacturing can empower future designers and engineers.
Felix graduated with a degree in Design for Industry at the University of Northumbria in the UK. He also had a stint in the music industry performing in the cult British band ‘The Kustom Built’.
Chief Development Officer
Douglas Ramsey has over 25 years of experience working across a number of manufacturing industries including primary metals, automotive, aerospace, energy, defense, and consumer products in the US, Europe, Japan, and South Korea.
Douglas is an international thought leader in advanced manufacturing technology and policy. Most recently, he served as the Chairman of the Industrial Control Board for the US National Lightweight Metals Innovation Institute (LIFT) in Detroit and as a manufacturing technology policy advisor and contributor to the White House as part of the Advanced Manufacturing Partnership (AMP 2.0). He has also held board and advisory roles with a number of manufacturing institutes in the US including the Smart Manufacturing Leadership Coalition (SMLC), America Makes, the Clean Energy Smart Manufacturing Innovation Institute (CESMII), and Institute for Advanced Composites Manufacturing Innovation (IACMI).
Douglas holds a Masters in Science and Economics in Strategic Studies from the National University of Wales, Aberystwyth, UK and a Bachelor of Arts in East Asian Studies and a Minor in Japanese from the Pennsylvania State University. Mr. Ramsey is fluent in English and Japanese.
Chief Financial Officer/COO
Curtis Bech is a strategy and business development professional with over 15 years of experience in bridge engineering, software development, consulting, venture capital, and corporate finance.
Most recently, Curtis has worked for Alcoa / Arconic in a variety of roles focused on developing new business strategies and pitching investments in new businesses, equipment, and technologies. Across these roles, Curtis was responsible for deal scouting, building internal alignment and sponsorship, and engaging and negotiating with potential deal partners. These evaluations and pitches have included new service business units; expansions of existing factories and greenfield developments; commercializing internally developed technology; and structuring joint ventures and equity investments in startup companies.
Curtis has a BSE in Structural Engineering and Architecture from Princeton and an MBA from Duke University.
Head of APAC
Takeshi is the Head of Asia Pacific Region for Hackrod. In this capacity, he is responsible for driving all business development activities in the region.
Prior to Hackrod, Takeshi was a Managing Partner at HCapNet advising global Fortune 1000 corporations on corporate development, strategic investment, joint ventures and partnerships. He has a special relationship with Dentsu Inc, Tokyo and is also a special advisor to www.moradoventures.com. In his Morado Ventures capacity, Takeshi closely works with the fund’s partners and investors in addition to their portfolio firms.
Head of Japan
Ken is responsible for business development activities in Japan for Hackrod.
Prior to joining Hackrod, Ken has had over 25 years of business development experience across Semiconductors, Software, and Communications and Cloud solutions. For example, he worked at Adobe in their Corporate Strategy group where he was responsible for driving Digital Transformation strategies.
Chief Principal Designer
FRASER CAMPBELL is the Chief Principal Designer at Hackrod.
Previously, Fraser had a successful 17 year career at Mattel Inc designing vehicles for the world leading brands Hot Wheels and Matchbox. As Staff designer with Hot Wheels, Fraser has worked with some of the biggest names in the automotive and entertainment spaces including, General motors, Ford, Lucas Film and Legendary pictures. Fraser holds a B.A (hons) in Product Design from Leeds Metropolitan University and an MSc in Industrial Design from Salford University, England. He started his career landing a position as Hot Wheels Product Designer for the Mattel U.K office in 1998, where he worked on the inception of the 1:18th Die-cast line to taking the lead on the Micros and Monster Jam product lines. In 2000, Fraser emigrated to California of the USA, H.Q. of Mattel Inc. to continue his career at Hot Wheels and as one of the youngest Hot Wheels designers by creating his first Mainline die-cast vehicle named ‘Maelstrom’. Continuing on to design a variety of vehicles from video game hero cars within Forza & Need for Speed, full sized show cars for SEMA and Ford to millions of toy boxes around the globe. In 2006 Fraser took a post at Mattels vendor operations in Hong Kong for a 5 year exchange to streamline the design to engineering and manufacturing processes. Frasers vision from the imaginary world of toy design and play to the industrial disciplines of 20th century manufacturing became inherent in supporting Hackrod’s need to develop a symbiotic design process with engineering to support the ever evolving 3D printing technologies and parameters. Fraser’s role will be to support the vision of the Hackrod executive team with world class industrial design innovation and execution.
GM Digital Development
Ian Monoghan is a creative technologist with a natural curiosity for digital processes and use cases of the Digital Twin.
Ian graduated with a degree in Automotive Design from Coventry University (BENG Hons) then spent 12 years Automotive Design/CAD/Process experience with LTI Car Bodies, Dagwood and Ford Europe. A career change saw Ian as the Senior Producer at Blackrock Studios (Disney), a Racing Game studio, creating AAA console games for PS3 & Xbox 360. Ian and fellow directors were intrigued by the gaming potential of the iPhone and fledgling app industry and setup a mobile games studio and later a platform agnostic pixel streaming company; harnessing the power of cloud GPU to deliver personalised interactive content to the customer at every stage of the journey on any device.
With his experience in Automotive, Gaming and Digital Twin applications Ian sees Hackrod as the inevitable convergence of these technologies with Industry 4.0.
Mike "Mouse" Maccoy
Chief Executive Officer
Mike “Mouse” McCoy is the CEO/Co Founder and Creative Director of Hackrod.
Prior to founding Hackrod, Mouse was the CEO of the award-winning Entertainment Studio Bandito Brothers. During his ten years at the Helm of Bandito Brothers he architected a unique branded entertainment model with the US Navy SEALs that led to the #1 box office Feature Film “Act of Valor” which he Produced and Directed. Following up on that success, Mouse directed the global media campaign “Hot Wheels for Real” for Mattel that set three Automotive World Records and earned a Cannes Gold Lion , Clio Gold and numerous other awards.
Mouse started his career as a professional motorcycle racer with such accolades as winning the Baja 500, Baja 1000 and starring in the now cult film classic “Dust to Glory”. Across his career in racing, as a stuntman, and as a Hollywood movie director, Mouse realized that his world revolved around taking artists 3D renderings and engineering them for rapid prototyping / manufacturing for the production of entertainment. This led to the launch of a deep research project looking at Future of Making Things. As the thematic focus moved to ‘how three kids in a garage can start a car company’, Hackrod was born.
